Work continues on the rebuilding of the hall. Roof in place but still to be tiled. The recent cold weather has meant that contractors have
had to move indoors and do internal work.
The installation of RWM and Office Bearers was held on Friday 11th December 2009. RWM R. Geddes was again installed for his second term in succession, his third in the lodge overall, by C. Geddes PM and D. Kerr PM.
Newly installed RWPGM A. Henderson, a past master of the lodge, was in attendance.
Bro. A Henderson PM was installed as RWPGM on 28th November 2009 at Partick Burgh Halls. This is a great honour for the lodge and many congratulations go to Bro. Henderson for reaching such a high office.
Work is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 29th September 2009, with completion on Tuesday 2nd February 2010
We are now getting very close to the start of rebuilding the hall. Work will begin soon.
Last evening the Lodge conferred an excellent Third Degree in Partick St Mary's Lodge No 117. Peter Johnston returned to carrying out degree work - indeed this is his first meeting in 92 Dumbarton Road. Brother Dino Kerr headed the Deputation in his own inimitable style in the absence of the Master.
There will be a 7 Masters' Degree on Tuesday 21st April 2009 in Lodge Kelvin Partick No 1207 in which our Master will take part. Brother Geddes asks for your support!
Next Friday evening Brother Iain Lamond PM will confer the Mark Ceremony as Mark Master. This will be our last Lodge Meeting before the summer recess
Lodge Ruchill conferred an MM degree on Friday 13th March. Both FCs enjoyed their raising to MM and the Ruchill brethren were applauded
for their efforts.
The Lodge Office Bearers conferred a FC degree on Friday 27th February. The brethren are to be commended for their excellent work.
A joint meeting of 683 and 1346 members was held in Lodge Knightswood's premises on Thursday 19th February. We received the good news
we were waiting for with the confirmation that admission of liability has been received. This means that we are now in a position to start the ball rolling with making the building safe, and in turn progress with reinstatement plans. Onwards and upwards.
Our first meeting since the fire at Ardery Street was held in Partick St. Mary's Lodge Rooms on Friday 13th February. This was
purely a business meeting with various items being discussed. A meeting has been arranged for Thursday 19th February in Lodge
Knightswood's premises at Priory Road, where members of both St. John Whiteinch, 683, and Lodge Western, 1346 can meet with the
consultant who has been appointed to act on our behalf during the reinstatement project. All members are encouraged to attend.
Future meetings will be held at 92 Dumbarton Road (Partick St. Mary's Lodge Rooms) at 7:30pm. The lodge will continue
to meet on the second and fourth Fridays of the month as usual.
I am saddened to report that Ardery Street hall has been destroyed by fire today (Friday 23rd January).
The roof has gone as well as all the furniture and other artifacts stored under and behind the stage. There are very few items that have
been able to have been recovered. The image below speaks for itself.
Lodge St. John Whiteinch's furniture is usually set out on a Friday morning, and you can see what is left of the Senior Warden's chair
and desk.
